Bio Medical Engineering

About the Department of Bio Medical Engineering (BME)

The Department of Biomedical Engineering (BME), established in 2024 with an initial intake of 30 students, is dedicated to advancing healthcare by integrating engineering principles with medical and biological sciences. Biomedical Engineering applies analytical thinking and problem-solving skills to create technologies that enhance human health and improve the quality of medical care.

The department offers a four-year B.E. Biomedical Engineering program affiliated with Anna University, designed in accordance with the Regulation 2021 curriculum. The program ensures academic rigor, industry relevance, and holistic development of students.

As an interdisciplinary field, Biomedical Engineering covers key domains such as Sensors and Measurements, Anatomy and Human Physiology, Biomedical Instrumentation, Bio-Control Systems, Diagnostic and Therapeutic Equipment, Healthcare Analytics, and Medical Image Processing. This strong blend of engineering, technology, and medical science prepares students to address real-world healthcare challenges.

With the rising need for innovative and affordable healthcare solutions, Biomedical Engineering continues to grow globally. The department strives to nurture competent biomedical engineers by offering quality education, encouraging research and innovation, and promoting strong industry collaborations to make meaningful contributions to the healthcare sector.
