Role of the Committee

  • The Internal Complaints Committee has a critical role in the prevention, prohibition, and redress of sexual harassment at workplace.
  • To create awareness among all students regarding social issues.
  • To prohibit the unwelcome behavior that constitutes workplace sexual harassment or acts amounting to sexual harassment of any employee.
  • To ensure that all individuals are treated with equal respect and that no discriminatory treatment is given to anyone.

Objective

The primary objective of the Institutional Development Plan (IDP) Committee is to formulate, implement, and periodically review a comprehensive development plan in alignment with the UGC guidelines for improving institutional quality. The IDP aims to:

  • Strengthen academic, administrative, research, and infrastructural capabilities of the institution.
  • Enhance student learning outcomes, employability, and holistic development.
  • Promote faculty development, curriculum enrichment, digital transformation, and good governance practices.
  • Establish long-term strategic planning aligned with the Vision and Mission of the Institution.
  • Ensure systematic documentation, monitoring, and evaluation of developmental initiatives for continuous quality improvement.

The Institutional Development Plan (IDP) is a structured framework mandated by the University Grants Commission (UGC) for Higher Education Institutions to plan and implement initiatives ensuring academic excellence and institutional sustainability.

The IDP Committee is responsible for:

  • Conducting a comprehensive situational analysis (SWOT, data-based assessment, stakeholder consultations).
  • Identifying short-term, mid-term, and long-term goals for academic, research, infrastructure, governance, and student support systems.
  • Designing action plans, budget requirements, timelines, and performance indicators.
  • Monitoring the execution of IDP activities and evaluating outcomes.
  • Preparing detailed reports for submission to University/UGC/Statutory Bodies.
  • Ensuring compliance with UGC guidelines and national accreditation frameworks (NAAC, NBA, and NIRF).

Operating Procedures

Institutional Assessment

  • Collect data on academic performance, faculty profile, research output, infrastructure status, and student support systems.
  • Conduct SWOT analysis, stakeholder feedback, and gap analysis.

Vision-Oriented Planning

  • Align with institutional Vision/Mission and UGC developmental priorities.
  • Identify priority areas (Academic, Research, Digital Learning, Infrastructure, Governance, Extension Activities).

Goal Setting

  • Define SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound).
  • Categorize into:
    • Short-term goals (1 year)
    • Mid-term goals (2–3 years)
    • Long-term goals (5 years)

Formulation of Action Plan

  • Develop detailed action plans with:
    • Activities
    • Responsible persons
    • Resources required
    • Budgets
    • Timelines
    • Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

Approval Process

  • Draft IDP is reviewed by IQAC and approved by the Head of Institution/Management.
  • Final IDP submitted to University/UGC whenever required.
